Responsible Gaming

General information

GENERAL INFORMATION

Gambling on Swiss4Win should be a source of entertainment and leisure. However, we acknowledge that gambling can be considered as something other than an amusement, therefore leading to negative consequences in the life of a person or their relatives.

For us, the welfare of our players comes first. For this reason, we have a plan of social measures in place to assist and protect our players.

Depending on the gambling behavior, the player may be contacted to initiate the relevant investigations, which, as a casino, we are required to make. Therefore, it is possible that he/she may be asked for the following documents:

  • Financial self-certification
  • Extract from the debt enforcement register
  • Tax documents
  • Salary statements
  • Bank statements
  • Any other documentation agreed upon by the parties

The documentation is treated in a confidential manner by the internal office in charge in compliance with the legal requirements on the protection of personal data and once the financial situation that allows the game to be played without the risk of negative consequences has been ascertained, the clarification file is closed. What is a compulsive gambling addiction or ludopathy?
It is considered compulsive gambling or ludopathy when the player can’t control their gaming behaviour anymore. The desire of gambling becomes an obsession, which leads to a loss of time and money, other than self-confidence and self-esteem.

There are three phases that describe the development of gambling addiction:

1.    Winning phase
In this phase, players usually win big amounts. This experience creates the illusion that winning may be influenced by one’s actions, other than being purely a matter of luck. The unavoidable consequent losses are considered a result of explainable external causes and are usually concealed. This behaviour becomes an issue when players keep wagering big amounts of money or get to the point of asking loans in order to continue playing. All loans are asked in pursuit of only one goal: continue playing.

2.    Losing phase
In the next phase, players exclusively use borrowed money. Usually, this phase marks the beginning of a gradual estrangement from family and friends. However, players are still convinced of being able to control their debts.

3.    Desperation phase
Gambling occupies a person’s whole day and prevails on their other interests, leading to a loss of personal relationships, job and reputation.

Here is a list of suggestions to help you play responsibly:

  • Never play if you are tired, depressed, ill or worried about relationship, family or school issues;

  • Only play with amounts intended for leisure or entertainment;

  • Before starting to play, define a maximum amount that you want to use. Any amount played should be reasonably proportioned to your financial situation;

  • Never try to win back what you lost. Usually, the more risk you take, the more the loss will be;

  • Take brakes during the game;

  • Avoid consuming alcohol while gambling; it increases your willingness to take risks and alters your judgement ability;

  • Never think that you can outsmart the system. Gambling is simply based on luck and it doesn’t depend on any kind of special ability.

Usually, some warning signs could indicate a possible gambling addiction, if they are recognized early on. Our self-assessment test  is a tool that could help you recognize any potential warning sign.

Self-assessment test
If you would like to make sure to play responsibly, a good starting point would be to take our self-assessment test, which can be done anonymously or saved in your own account, so that you can later review it.
