Casinò Lugano has received an extension to its permit to also manage casino games online and has conceived the Swiss4Win brand for its entry in the online Swiss market.

Swiss4Win grants access to a wide offer of slots, jackpots, table games, “live casino” games – table games with live dealers – and many exclusive promotions.

This achievement was also possible thanks to Casinò Lugano’s strong history and long experience.


The history of Casinò Lugano

In 1912, Casinò Lugano obtained the licence to manage small gambling games, and in 1922 it changed its name to Casino and Theatre Kursaal. The municipality of Lugano became its major shareholder in 1970.
22 years later, slot machines were introduced as an add-on to the historic “boule”.
Then, in 1993, “big games” were introduced in Switzerland and the gaming house of Lugano obtained the type “A” licence until, on the 29th of November 2002, it opened its doors as Casino Lugano SA, its new logo symbolising the Casino’s standing as the pearl of the European Casino scene.
Later, the current shareholder structure of Casinò Lugano was reached: 67% to the municipality of Lugano, 29% to Casinos Austria Swiss, and the rest to small private shareholders. The restyling that took place in 2014 and the one in 2018, after the closure of the nearby Casino of Campione, represent the most recent steps of this extraordinary 200-years-long history.
